MY STORY
My name is Alex Cunningham and I’ve been riding horses for over a decade. I have spent the last 4 years backing and schooling horses of all sorts. I am experienced with problem horses, young horses, horses that are on rehabilitation programs and horses that need training for shows. I believe in developing a mutual understanding between you and your horse, a relationship with the perfect balance between nurturing and discipline. Creating a happy working horse and rider team is what I strive for.

My Ground Training work involves an intimate understanding of your horses natural behaviour. In order for your horse to understand you, you need to understand your horse. My qualifications include 3 modules with EQASA and 11 years worth of riding experience. I feel that the first step in your young horses’ training is a good base of ground work that establishes the relationship you have with your horse. If your animal needs help with a specific physical or behavioral issue, horse behavior training with AC Equestrian will be a great option for you.

COMPETITION TRAINING AND INSTRUCTION
I believe when competing with your four legged friend, it is a team effort. Each side putting equal work in and pushing to get the results they can! Catering to all forms of competitors there is no pressure on winning or losing, if that’s how you roll! We then focus more on building the team up to a point where both parties are happy either way because they did their best! However if you prefer a tougher/ stricter training program, I have no problem with turning up the heat!

After working for 2 and a half years at a professional children’s stable yard in Kyalami, AC Equestrian offers Children’s Lessons and Pony Camps!
Available for all children from the age of 5 and upwards.
Lessons are fun filled, engaging and the children really learn to come out of their shell.
Pony camp is a full day of bathing, riding and grooming, learning how to tack up, and build courses. Eating good food, playing with friends and so much more!
